The U.S. News Global Education Fall India Tour kicked off to a strong reception in Bangalore, India on October 27 with over 150 prospective students and their parents participating in a mini college fair roadshow with dedicated one-on-one counseling from college admissions counselors. Participating U.S. universities included the University of Dayton, the University of Illinois at Chicago, University of the Pacific, and Auburn University.

The tour continued the next day in Hyderabad, India on October 28 where an even larger crowd of more than 240 people participated in the day’s activities. Benjamin Nicholson, Program Manager for U.S. News Global Education, gave the keynote presentation on the U.S. higher education system and the considerations international students should focus on when applying to universities in the United States. “I really enjoyed presenting at these events,” said Nicholson. “The audiences were receptive, and I had a lot of people asking questions afterward. The turnout at both events was also high – the rooms were filled.”

At each event, there were award ceremonies with students who have already received conditional offer letters to some of the participating universities. Nicholson presented some of these students with a Distinguished Student Award including a certificate of recognition, a commemorative medal, and in some cases, special scholarship offers.

Admissions representatives from the participating universities assisted more than 50 students to apply to their universities right at the event with a streamlined application process and a guaranteed expedited review and decision process. “The students were really engaged and asked all the right questions,” said Bhagyashree Sharma, a local representative of the University of Dayton. “We received such high-quality applications that I am confident these students will receive conditional offer letters in just a matter of days.”

The Fall India Tour continues in Chennai on November 17, Mumbai November 18, Delhi November 24, and Ahmedabad November 25. For more information or to register to participate in one of these cities, please visit the Fall India Tour information page.
